50/50

I finally took the time to sit and fully watch the movie 50/50. I did see previews of it when it first came out and then never got a chance to go see it. I can tell you that it was worth watching.

The story hit somewhat close to home for me. The difference was I was a small child when I was diagnosed with my disease and this young man was about 27. It was easy for me to imagine his pain and how he felt and even more so, how he felt being ill in what should be the prime of his life. The need of wanting to remain independent, and it seems you always will need your mother at some point no matter how old you are.

Friendship is so very important and support in all ways is a major key to recovery. This movie hit home for me and I can imagine it brought the reality of cancer diagnosis to all those who really have not had an experience like this.

Everyone should see this movie, it was well done and very true to life. I hope when you do see it, you walk away from it with all that I did.
