Recently, my husband and I stood up for two friends that decided to wed. I am thrilled for them since, although in different scenarios, they both have been to hell and back. One suffered the tragic loss of a companion after 30 years together. The other went through a relationship with a partner who suffered from addiction. Although I do not know him well, this guy walked out on everything, a home, all his ‘stuff,’ and lots of debt, only to pull himself slowly out, financially and emotionally. They both met by fate and a year later, we all stood together at the courthouse with tear in our eyes for their love and their losses. A toast to both Maurico & Jimmy and here’s to many many happy years together. May you experience all the happiness and joy my husband and I have been blessed with in our 31 years together. The only advice I share is that it is work, not always bliss, but good and bad, it is a wonderful experience. Mazel Tov!
