A Recent Show

We decided to do something different and go to a show in a non-casino on Mothers Day weekend. Not knowing the details and not wanting to insult anyone at all, it somehow was not what we expected. Although it was a non-casino, the building at one time operated as a casino, yet the sound was not very good. Hearing the actors became difficult and the show itself was not what it was played up to be. We were, however, excited to find out it was a production company and it was a non-profit so we hunkered down in our seats to watch the show unfold. It was good, not great but we still sat and listened, being supportive of a local theatre group. The voices turned out to be very, very good but the one thing I have to say that I found disappointing was that the room was not full, not sold out on a Saturday night???? The question came to mind as to why? A big production in a big hotel? No matter what, the community should have rallied to support this group of hard working actors and actresses and that they should have been overflowing with customers to come support their future. Some of the talent was really, really good putting everything else aside. My lesson learned for the day. Support your local community and help them to succeed. Each actor should have at least had enough friends and family to come and celebrate that this production made it to a big hotel and was supported no matter what. All of us non-profits need your help! Reach out and take the bull by the horns!
