An Interesting Meeting

Today I was stopping by my sons old elementary and middle school about book purchases and on my way out I heard someone call my name.

As this gentlemen walked towards me, I knew I had never before met him, but he approached me with a big smile and arms opened wide. As he walked toward me, he said, “you do not know me, but I know you and I think I want to hug you.” After we hugged, he stepped away and introduced himself as a pastor who has survived breast cancer. He heard of me and knew my son, and knew I had written a book. After I got over my reaction to him in general and then finding out he had breast cancer, he then proceeded to tell me he was ill, 16 years ago and never does anyone speak of the men who suffer from this ailment. Well, I am here to speak for him. He was wonderful, kind, warm and of course filled with life from his experience and wants to “spread his word” appreciating life and his second chance. What an inspiration to meet him. My hat goes off to my new friend. I handed him my business card and hope he signs onto this web sight to read this blog. He made my day! Thank you new friend.
