Angels: I love looking at them, talking about them, and gifting them, but deep down I am uncertain if they are real. Do they mean anything, or are they really even there? I have friends that swear by angels and often feel their presence, but I always teeter on the fence with things like this. I even struggle with my beliefs in God. While I believe in a higher power, I am uncertain of what that really is. I do, however, believe that someone or something watches over us. My close friend Chuck recently fell on the ice and was knocked out for over four minutes, then crawled up an icy driveway, unable to stand in zero degree weather. He was lucky enough that his husband found him in the garage and called 911. His injuries were very serious, and he was in intensive care for several days for a brain injury among other things. Fortunately, he is now home recovering. They happen to have surveillance cameras at their home, so we were able to see the timeline of the accident and watch him struggle to get back inside after waking up.The doctor and nurses tell him he is lucky not only to be alive but to not be in a coma after this ordeal. Chuck truly believes in angels, speaking of them often and feeling their presence. Now, I do too. Who else would have been watching over him, making sure he kept it together long enough to get help? Yep, his angels.
