Cloudy Days

Whenever the clouds come out it gives me a reason to think about how nice the sunshine is.

When the days are gloomy, people tend to also be gloomy. Just like when someone in the family is sick, there is often a gloom that automatically  hangs over us. Adding gloomy weather to the mix can make you feel a little sad and vulnerable. One of the important things for us to try to work through on these “gloomy days” is trying to be positive. Take a little trip to a happy place like the movies or the mall. Play a board game if you are stuck in the hospital or home bound with the patient. Why not have a picnic in the living room? Make the most of the situation! If the gloominess gets worse, camp out with the kids and turn off the lights, light up the flashlights and tell scary stories.  These are just a few suggestions to help take away the feelings you experience without the happiness of sunshine.  Learn to make your own sunshine and help to brighten the days of those around you!
