Crazy Weather

We have enough on our plates every day with family issues and responsibilities, especially when you have an ill child or family member. With all we have to do, when the weather controls us it can put a damper on our week. Today, we are only experiencing heavy rain, which here on the East Coast seems kind of minor after hurricane Sandy. The problem is that this rain is the same storm that has effected the Midwest and more, with tornadoes, rain that has devastated then entire US, and left death and distraction in it’s path. People are haggard and terrified with more storms still coming their way.

I have had first hand experience in this kind of loss, but not death. I feel I can understand what they are going through to an extent. Our home was destroyed during hurricane Sandy and after loosing our entire first floor and two cars, stress can take a major toll on our health. I think during the process of rebuilding and dealing with the insurance companies, FEMA, paperwork, moving into a rental, and throwing away all of my personal stuff, I had a headache that followed me during the entire 4 month process. After things were finally finished and we moved back home, I felt blessed and lucky that, I still had a home, no one was killed or seriously injured, and that neither my husband or I became ill or needed to be hospitalized for anything. My father was extremely ill during Sandy and nearly died from something that had nothing to do with the storm, but it was another added form of stress to our plate.

I do send my prayers to all of the families who are suffering and praying that  mother nature will let up and calm down for them all so they can rebuild in peace. Hang in there and try to keep the faith.
