Dance in the Rain

I am honored to accept the invitation of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to be the keynote speaker at the Pediatric Stroke Conference on November 6, 2011.  As you are already probably aware, I have a commitment to CHOP and feel it is my mission to give back as much as I can, since that is the very place where I fought and won my own battle against childhood cancer.  The doctors, nurses, and staff took such great care of me and my entire family throughout my childhood and I am honored to return and be able to speak with these families.

The theme for the conference is “Don’t wait for the storm to pass; learn to dance in the rain”, and that embodies much of what I try to share with the families I work with- giving them hope that everything will be okay.

In addition to being the keynote speaker, my dear friend Josh Heller will be joining me once more to gift books to families in attendance that day.  I know that this will be a fantastic event and look forward to touching lives and hopefully making a difference.
