Gathering The Family

With the holidays coming up and the crazy work schedules of our family, we always try, like everyone else, to gather on the holidays. While we make a valiant effort, sometimes we just can’t all be together in the same spot at the same time. So, in between the major holiday gatherings, I like to have smaller gatherings so that everyone or parts of the family can see each other and have time to “catch up.” For instance, a group of us are doing a brunch since some of this side will either be working or unable to join us on Thanksgiving. It is a way for everyone to get a piece of family time that is so important to each of us.

During the holidays, my house will be filled with a few grandchildren, a lot of chatter, and of course a lot of happiness. We will fill each other in on new adventures and goals and spend some much needed quality time together. When we actually get together and it works out for us, I embrace the day with a warmth and happiness that we all feel when we are together. We laugh and joke and talk about hoping to be together again soon during the Christmas holiday.

Hats off to those of you who do this kind of thing too. It is important to stay in touch with family and close friends. I treasure those relationships and take them very seriously. Those of you who know me personally can vouch for that. To my family and friends out there reading, I love you all and will see you all very soon.Shute-01
