Holiday Stress

I think I often blog about this before the holidays, it seems to be an approiate time to put everyone into check. We all fall into that unwelcome stress right around this time of year, no matter how hard we try not to. Getting caught up in family, family expectations, entertaining, etc. seems to be bigger than life at this time and I would like to share a few secrets with you to help “pull through” with shining colors.

First of all, under completely normal circumstances the stress brought on can make you ill, so take a moment to imagine what people and families go through when adding an extremely ill child or even family member into the mix. Questions will arise about traditions, finances, diet, and so on. I want everyone who reads this to take a moment to think about all of this and more. We all like to keep traditions, but if we cannot afford to, or can’t eat certain things, or are unable to attend all the functions, we all need to be understanding. If we cannot be warm and kind to everyone’s needs throughout the holiday, then what is it truly all about? Keep the focus on what we truly want to accomplish – being together, time, small gifts of gestures, focusing on the “real” reason the holidays for. Keep this in mind when making purchases, cooking, baking, and just plain planning. “What is it really all about?” – when you get the right answer, it all should fall into place.
