Losing a Friend

I recently experienced the loss of my very close friend Nancy.

I have spoken about her in my blogs often and sharing personal feelings and thoughts has allowed me to feel connected to my readers. Nancy was one of my favorite people in life. I think that I feel that way since she is a hero, and like me, a fighter. But unfortunately Nancy lost the battle, thought she was fighting to the bitter end. Having been a double breast cancer survivor 10 years apart, she was diagnosed with brain cancer about 8 months ago. After 2 brain surgeries and months of treatments, rehab, and fighting through it all, her battle was finally lost.

She is the strongest woman I know and will remain in my heart forever. Although I have been through extreme health issues, with at least 6 surgeries in my past, Nancy showed me a different kind of strength and how to live life to the fullest, each and every day since we met. She loved life in such a way that whomever she touched or came in contact with instantly felt connected to her. She looked at things with such amazing perspective and had a smile on her face until she faced the defeat of her personal battle against disease.

Nancy, I salute you and will continue to share my life with you in a special way.
