I often blog about my dog and all the dogs that we have had throughout my life. There is nothing like having a dog (or any pet for that matter). Your pet loves you unconditionally, through the best and worst of life, day or night, rain or shine. Whether you have committed a crime, become the president, or are a plain regular person, they are there. They sleep with you, stand by you, and keep you company when you are happy, sad, or even ill. When you are ill, or have an ill person in your home, especially a child in the family, your pet shows loyalty that goes way beyond normal. For me, my dog is there to kiss my sleepy face in the morning and cuddle next to me each and every night. He is happy when things are tough and stays happy when the chips are down. His kindness reflects on me even in the worst of times and for that he is often rewarded with kisses, hugs, and, of course, lots of treats. As animal lovers know well enough, our pets are members of our families and deserve all the same kindness that we give each person in the family. You never have to second guess your pet.
