These days, so much of what we do is based off of a computer or the internet. There are so many options out there, that it is often difficult to weed through them all to find out what suits your needs. Whether you want to advertise a charity event, meet people who have similar interests, find long lost friends, or share latest events, make sure you properly utilize the site for all it has to offer. Social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn have many options for the user to help them find what they are looking for. Each of these sites has a tutorial for you to use to properly set up the type of page you want and to help you understand what different privacy settings are available.
Whether you decide to join a “group” or “like” a certain page, be sure to remember that unless you are careful, the whole world might have access to your information. Also, remember that words that are typed can be misinterpreted by the reader, so think twice before you write. These tools are very powerful and a near necessity these days, but that doesn’t mean that they should be taken for granted to always be safe and user-friendly.
