Sibling Support

Hearing the news about cancer or ay other horrible illness is one thing, how we deal with it as an individual and a family is entirely another. I have written and published an article about this and live by this as well. “When one person in the family is ill, the entire family is ill.” Each of us deal with things differently and we as the adults should certainly pay attention to the entire family as a unit when trying to cope. First we may be mad at the diagnosis since it will disrubt the entire family and we do not want to have to think about this. Second, we may not truly understand, especially small siblings, what is truly going on and should be dealt with on an entirely different level. By reaching out and asking for help coping with this new found way of life, the entire family can be treated and understood with what they are going through as an individual  and as a group.
