Taking things for Granted

Every day we wake up and begin our day: make coffee, eat breakfast, read the paper, walk the dog, take a shower and head to work. That is what a majority of us do either daily or at some point in our lives. We go about our business without much thought on anything else accept our family, our needs, our problems, etc. We are surrounded by so much– death, hunger, abuse, illness and disease– and yet we still carry on though the day. Stop at some point throughout the day, and really open your eyes. Look past the simple and dig deep. Find something that you notice, take it in and figure out what you can do to help or change it. This is a great challenge and a small step in making the world a better place. By looking closely something not usually noticed, and changing it, you will feel better about yourself and who knows, you may change the path of someone who truly needs help. Let me know how it works out. I bet we can all make a difference.
