Thyroid Cancer

Back as many months ago as I can remember, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. I began preparing for surgery and going through the motions like all of you. Did it bring back old memories? Yes! Did it make me a little sick to my stomach to have to go through surgery again? Yes! Did I get over myself and move forward to address the situation and get ready to move on? YES! I was very concerned, as were my family and friends, choosing not to share it with all of you just yet so that I did not have to spread myself too thin while trying to do it all. I have two events in the next year, my husband was having serious health issues, and my son was recently engaged. All very time consuming things, yet I needed to balance it all and get over it. The engagement was a blessing in disguise since it helped me focus on recovery. With all of this said, surgery went very well, running 5 hours since there were some complications but I have bounced back beautifully. One of the main reasons I did, was being fit and eating right. I exercise daily and try to eat low fat and high protein on a regular basis. Everything fell into place in the recovery room and with an overnight stay, I was ready to move on and begin work again. As far as the cancer, they need to decide as a group whether I need anything more since my counts were right in the middle, so decisions must be made. I was told it was nothing urgent and to go on with life until they decided. So, here I am, feeling great and ready to move on! 100_2052
