Last Thursday, my husband and I attended a Community Partners Breakfast from Wells Fargo and my foundation received a $1000 grant. The Alesia Shute Foundation, along with about 40 other small foundations and non-profits, were honored and it was such a wonderful experience. We are all caught up in our lives, our problems, and our families, so this morning it was nice to sit back and meet so many people who wake up every day and volunteer their time to help others. I know all the work I do to make my foundation run smoothly, and have enough funds to do the wonderful things we do, but to hear all the other stories was not only grounding, it was heartwarming. From paramedics to feeding starving and abandoned children, and everything you can imagine in between, these people are all heroes and how wonderful that Wells Fargo takes the time to recognize them all of us who work to make a positive mark on the community. I am proud to have been a part of this function and hope they continue to recongize the foundation and others for many years to come. I was even able to gift some of my comic books to some of the guests. I met some wonderful people who I look forward to keeping in touch with. Thank you Wells Fargo!
