A Gathering

Planning a fundraiser is a job. There is no doubt about it, no getting around it, and no easy way in or out of it. I say these words only if you want it to work. I have been a fundraiser for years and was self taught. I read a lot, planned a lot, recruited a lot of helpers, and found out that if you are not willing to work and put in the time, you cannot possibly have a successful event. What else did I learn? This is something I am pretty good at, kind of have a knack for, and a big part of all that is that I’m willing to put in the time and use my organizational skills to help it become a great success. Running a foundation and helping others is something that comes natural to me. I enjoy it, but admit that it is work, and lots of it. My next event is October 4th and it’s almost a sellout. I will be celebrating my newest book, The Crusaders, in which I am a super hero. I am enjoying the book and all it has to offer and I’m including it in my foundation work. Having this comedy dinner is work, but I am having fun doing it. The end result, that evening, is that I managed to gather a great group of friends, family and newcomers to all that I do. I guarantee them a great time and in return, they continue to support all that I do.
