Couped Up With An Ill Child

With the recent terrible weather and the resulting problems with roads, electricity, school closings, etc., how does one survive being cooped up not only your healthy children but also with someone who is ill? First of all, you need to make sure there is enough medicine in the home just in case you cannot get out. If there is machinery involved in caring for an ill child or person, make sure there is a back-up battery pack or small generator on which to run the equipment. With the most important things out of the way, now you simply need to fill those boring hours of being cooped up with your children. First of all, keep some kind of school work handy even if it’s just to review things to keep the little brains going. Artistic projects or even mindless activities to keep everyone happy are a good idea. Cooking, baking, crafts, movies, and computer games are always good options. Keep some sort of schedule if it is more than a day so that everyone feels the security of having a regimen. Involve everyone in projects, and also make sure there is some down time for all to do what they please. With that said, good luck this winter!
