Dance Like Nobody is Watching!

Funny, I often hear this saying and think nothing of it, but I understand the significance. airI’m sharing this story with you because this saying haunted me all day long a few days ago. Visiting a friend who is bedridden and in terrible shape is something none of us want to do, but, we do it and feel better that we did, not only for ourselves but for the person we visited. My friend, who in the past few years lost his father, sold his family business, and invested in a cute condo in Florida, something that had been long awaited, was ready for retirement and had financially stability in hand- life was there for the taking.  About one year later, brain cancer changed his life and that of his partners. One surgery later, chemo, radiation, etc, you all know the drill, the cancer has returned. His prognosis, not good, now unable to walk, and is home in NJ, in a hospital bed in the living room. I have seen this scenario more than once and watched not only the patient deteriorate, but the caretaker go through things they never dreamed of doing. The compassion and loyalty is amazing and I salute this caretaker for every moment of his work, and for me, after this visit, I will be …..DANCING LIKE NOBODY IS WATCHING!
