Easter and Passover

It does not matter what holiday you celebrate or how you pray, but being with family and close friends is key to completing any holiday. For us, we have such a spread-out mixed bunch of people with crazy work schedules, but we always manage to make things work. Even when someone is ill, making the family thing work is so very nice that it does not matter when or where. For us, we celebrated Easter with our family on Palm Sunday, which also was the night before passover. Breakfast with my sister and her family began the day, while dinner at our home and an Easter egg hunt finished it. All who could make it in the area managed and for those who did not, there is the ever famous Father’s Day BBQ at our home, which, of course, does not necessarily fall on Father’s Day. Trying to make it work is the fun and we enjoy every moment together.

My next door neighbor worried we would be alone for Easter and invited us over to be with their family. How very sweet they were for the invite, but we were dining with close friends down the road from our home. I embrace all of this and cherish our friends and love being with our family, especially our granddaughters. They bring new life into the family now that all of our children are growing up. Sounds like more kids in the future.
