Looking Back

I know we cannot go back in time and change things that have already happened, but I do want to share something with you that I shared during my interviews in New York the other day.

I told each of my interviewers for every magazine we met with that day that, “If I could change anything that happened to me during my childhood, I would NOT.” What I meant by this statement was that all that my family and I went through: the pain, the mental stress, the surgeries, everything– I would not change a thing. Life was meant to happen the way it did for me. All that I went though was meant to happen; it was what molded me into the person I am today. I could not have done it any other way. I like who I am and what I have become. I would not change one single thing. My story and my ability to share it with others and give hope to those who are suffering was meant to be and I am thankful to be who I am and where I am today and hope that I can truly make a difference.
