More Snow??? Is it Spring Yet?

This has been one of the coldest and snowiest winters in as long as I can remember. It reminds me of how much I hate both the cold and snowy weather! I feel, like probably everyone else around me, as though I am hibernating, only going outside to get into the car or walk the dog. Other than that, trips outside for any length of time have occurred very far and few between. I think of when I was ill, and although I was very young, bad weather had to interfere with my treatments at times since I was sick for so long. My parents had to plan for this along with all the other issues of dealing with a child with a serious illness. How did they do it? How did they juggle taking care of me, treatments, emergencies, my sister and brother, school, and work? I am overwhelmed just writing about it, and I know this particular winter must have been very trying on all the parents traveling back and forth from hospital to doctors and home. However, we do what we have to do and deal with each incident as it comes. We plan for the worst and hope for the best. We do this in every aspect of our lives, if we want to come out with sanity. I think of my parents’ sacrifices now and salute all of you who are having to conquer the storm with more on your plate than just getting to work. Take it slow and steady and remember, spring will be in the air soon!
