I cannot believe I have been an author for five years now, along with running my own foundation, speaking engagements, and meeting many families with ill children. It has been keeping me very busy, and it is ongoing work that will never run out. My reward is sharing my book, my words, and my life with complete strangers who slowly or instantly become friends via email, social media, or just plain old human contact. Yes, human contact…amazing that it still exists, isn’t it? After five years, it still is my favorite way to communicate! However, at times it is difficult, so my second choices are email and social media. Through these outlets, I can chat with folks all over the world any time day or night, something unheard of just a few years ago. There is no time card to punch with this job, so I do it whenever I have the time. When I travel, I even put aside some time to answer emails and questions. I never blow anyone off and since I run my foundation like a mom and pop operation, I personally answer and even handwrite all of my own mail–something else that is unheard of these days! I feel it is important for people to know I want to take time out of my day to speak to them, and that no time is the wrong time when someone is in need.
