Paying Attention to the Family

Looking at the truth and seeing that there may be a problem dealing with illness of a family member is a big part of finding the cure or going through the treatments. Pay attention to this especially in younger children and teens. Ask yourself if they are changing their behavior to drastically from better to worse or that eating habits are not really right. Notice if there is extremes in anything like this. Even grades changing, trouble in school, not being outgoing any more. These are red flags and easy to notice when you actually look. You may be the caregiver to the ill child, but try to pay attention to this with the others so you can act on it fast and not let this slip by and become more serious than it already is. Reach out if necessary for professional help. Do not turn away and blow it off as something that shall pass easily. Follow these links for more information on how and where to get help.
