Today I am preparing to head up to the Camden Ronald McDonald House which is located across from Cooper Hospital.
I am going to deliver some books that sponsors donated to them and also to Cooper Hospital since I am going to be right there. The plan is to meet with the families who are staying at the house while their loved one is at one of the area hospitals. The all come back to the house usually for dinner, so I thought it would be nice to break bread with them, listen to what is going on with their families, and gift them one of my books. It might end up to be a wonderful day for them even though they are under a lot of stress from whatever they and their families are going through. I plan on listening to them, really listening, and I hope to put a smile on their faces and with my gift I will hope they take some time to read about my life and past problems. In return they will be hopefully stronger and more relaxed, more able to deal with day to day problems that arise when someone is ill. I am hoping that I will hear from these families over time as well. Wish me luck!
