Spring Has Arrived

The approach of the spring season is upon us with blooming flowers, the grass becoming a rich green, and the hum of the hummingbirds. At my house, when I say the “hum”, I mean it. If you stand outside and just listen, there are so many hummingbirds you can hear them swooshing back and forth to each feeder and hovering in front of my kitchen window as if to get my attention, telling me, “We are back.” That is truly what I believe and I want to believe that the same birds return to live in our trees. Day in and day out, they swarm to the feeders and make us smile while we are by the pool or just drinking coffee in the kitchen. We refill the feeders at least 2 times a day and there are 3-4 hanging until the end of the season. It makes the summer a happier place and adds to the beauty of my yard. I have embraced planting flowers and caring for all of them and take pride on the care and time I spend with them and the birds. Our neighbors do the same and we enjoy that for about 6 months out of the year we can freely spend time outside, enjoying the weather, and listening to nature. Welcome spring! Welcome. DSCN2299
