Yet Another Storm

Recently, in Southern NJ, we experienced a terrible storm. I can tell you that it was not a long storm with lots of rain, but the winds left southern NJ in turmoil. No power for days on end, and to top it off, no cell service for about 20 hours or more. Our home looked as if it was hit by a tornado and the neighborhood matched. We are all ok but the one thing that concerned me and so many others is, we had no power, land lines, and cell service. Without that, where we live, having an emergency could be a matter of life and death. We are a bit of a ride to a hospital and without communication, I felt very vulnerable to a dangerous fire or health issue. Luckily, we are all ok, but what is the answer? I do not remember losing cell service since 9/11 so it is something we don’t think of often. If anyone out there has maybe a suggestion or answer to this issue, let us all know your thoughts. Everything has turned out fine, but there is always another natural disaster in the works. We need to be safe and aware of all those things around us that mother nature throws our way.My Year of You
